A Friends of the Library Fundraising Project

Tucked away on the second floor of the Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library, the Secret Garden Book Store is a charming year-round fundraising shop run by our dedicated Friends of the Library group.

While we regret that there is currently no elevator access to the second floor, those who are able to visit will discover a cozy space filled with gently used treasures. Our ever-changing collection includes books donated by community members, as well as titles retired from the library’s shelves to make room for new materials.

You’ll find something for everyone—bestselling fiction, children’s books, DVDs, and more—all at very affordable prices. Every purchase helps support the Friends group and the library’s mission to serve the Rimersburg community.

*If you are thinking of donating books and materials to The Secret Garden Bookstore, we thank you for thinking of us as a place to send your gently used items to provide them with a new home. We would be glad to take them; however, below is a list of items that we no longer take or cannot accept:

• Nonfiction books (these rarely sell)
• Mass market paperbacks or magazines
• VHS tapes or cassette tapes
• Encyclopedia/reference sets
• Reader’s Digest condensed books
• Books that are musty, moldy, torn, dirty, written in, or water-damaged

Friends of the Library book sales depend on the donations we receive. We can only sell books in good condition. Books that are dirty, damp, moldy, or smelly, have bugs or bug debris, have torn or missing covers, wavy pages from water damage, have missing pages or have been chewed on by the family pet cannot be sold. If the book is not in good enough shape to give to a friend, please don’t donate that book to Friends of the Library. Please recycle or dispose of these books yourself. We have minimal trash disposal options and cannot take on the burden of sorting through unusable materials.
