Other ways to enter the drawing:

1.      Check out a book at the library. It has to be you (it can be on a parent’s card). Books must be returned to the library on time. One entry per check-out per day.

2.      Visit one of the places on the Water Adventures page, take a picture of yourself there and send it to me along with your name, age, where you are, and what you thought of the adventure.

3.      Come to one of the “special” days at the library:

a.      Mondays: Block Party, come build something with one of our many block sets

b.      Thursday: Story Time for the littles (pre-K through 2nd grade) come in at 1 p.m. and hear Miss Kelly read a story and enjoy a take-home craft!

c.      Friday: Come into the library and make some art. Paint, color, draw, and more with our many art supplies. We will have some sidewalk chalk outside for you to make our sidewalk and wall colorful!

What are Water Adventures, you might be asking?  Well, since this year’s Summer Reading theme is Oceans of Possibilities, but we aren’t near any oceans, Miss Kelly got creative and found some other water sources to incorporate into our program.  Here are a couple of the places you could set off and adventure to this summer with friends and family and at the same time, earn an entry into the grand prize drawing:

Allegheny River  – The Allegheny River runs along the southern border of Clarion County. There are several spots to view the Allegheny River one of the best being the Brady’s Bend Overlook on Rt. 68 towards East Brady.

Redbank Creek –  The Redbank Creek runs from Brookville, PA to East Brady, PA where it runs into the Allegheny. Stop by Gumtown Park in New Bethlehem, PA to see the dam on the Redbank.

Beaver Creek – Located on Rt. 208 between Knox and Emlenton. Beaver Creek contains 850 acres of lakes, wetlands and meadows. An amazing place to observe wildlife and have some outdoor fun.

Wildcat Run – This stream is a tributary of the Redbank Creek. It’s a beautiful stream that can best be seen along the Sligo Spur of the Redbank Valley Trail in Lawsonham.

There are many more – check them out and make some great memories along the way this summer!
